Empire State Building
You've seen the picture. Eleven steel workers enjoying their lunch 1000 feet in the air above Manhattan with nary a safety line or OSHA inspector in sight. It was the age of getting things done, and they certainly did.Constructed in eleven months, the 1250-foot Empire State Building, the world's tallest skyscraper from 1931 to 1971, was a marvel of modern engineering. The frame rose more than a story a day; no comparable building since has matched that rate of ascent. We wanted to honor the calm determination those steel workers embodied in a tile that shows off the iconic profile that has stood the test of time. We think our 4"X8" tile nails it. And you can have lunch at your desk while enjoying the view.

All of our tiles are handmade in Texas. We use the cuenca, or arista, technique, in which the glaze colors are prevented from mingling in the firing process by raised borders molded into the clay
Because we individually press and glaze every tile there is a slight variation which lends to their handmade beauty. The size and weight of each of our tiles hearkens back to the days of true craftsmanship.
